Green Property Features
Sustainability and environmentally conscious innovations were a top priority
throughout the design process. A number of green features have been
implemented:
• Approximately 95% of the concrete that existed at the defunct Jantzen
Swimwear facility was recycled into the development.
• Water-permeable pavement was incorporate to allow water percolation
directly into the soil.
• Native drought-tolerant plants were selected to decrease irrigation
demands.
• Building energy use is reduced via a multitude of skylights, fluorescent
bulbs, and state-of-the-art freezers and refrigerators.
• Highly reflective roofing was integrated to decrease heat transfer into the
buildings.
• Polished cement floors were used to reduce the need for potentially
harmful chemical products.
• Sealants with low volatile organic compound levels were used in building
construction.
• Significant efforts were made to utilize local building materials when
possible.
